Mumbo-jumbo and Other Works

Premiere performances of Mumbo-jumbo inspired by a hodgepodge of controversial 19th century juvenile literature and influenced by how phenomena such as xenophobia, racism, ignorance, abandonment, sacrifice, cruelty, and erroneous identity may lead to widespread cultural confusion will take place as part of the Harkness Dance Festival 2011. Also appearing on the program will be excerpts from a smattering of earlier works and a sneak preview of the latest collaboration with composer Gregory Spears. The costume design is by Carol Binion, Andy Jordan, and Christopher Williams.
Featuring performers Jennifer Lafferty, Kira Blazek, Hope Davis, Caitlin Scranton, Emily Stone, Storme Sundberg, Paul Singh, Raja Kelly, Andrew Champlin, Burr Johnson, Jordan Isadore, Jacqueline Horner-Kwiatek, Larry Lipnik, Elizabeth Weinfield, Jacqui Kerrod, and Mischa Bouvier.
